“is there anyone of you with food?”

Suddenly, a man with unkempt hair was passing with goats he was rearing.

The Prophet (P.B.U.H.) asked him whether he was selling.

He said
: Yes he was.
He then bought a goat from him, it was prepared, he then ordered the roasting of the liver. I swear
by Allah, all the one hundred and thirty men took a piece liver from the prophet (P.B.U.H.), ate and
got satisfied.

Blessing of food in the battle of Tabuk

Imam Ahmad relates that Abu Hurairah said:

In the of (battle of) Tabuk, the food reserves were exhausted, so people starved till they asked the Prophet (P.B.U.H) to permit them to slaughter their camels for food. He gave them
permission to do so.

On this, Umar said to the Prophet:

O Messenger of Allah, if that is done we would suffer from lack of transportation, why don’t you
ask everyone to bring whatever is remaining of their food stuffs then you pray to Allah to bestow
His blessings on it.

The Prophet (P.B.U.H.) agreed.

He therefore asked everyone to bring what they had. He prayed for the food, then he asked them to bring their food bags. He filled each and every bag with food till there was no one left with out a bag full of food.

Then he (P.B.U.H.) said:

“I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, and I bear witness that I am a Prophet and a Messenger of Allah, and he who meets Allah bearing the two without doubt will enter paradise”
