The Prophet’s (P.B.U.H.) prayer for rain
As far as the heavenly miracles are concerned, the Prophet prayed for rain for his people when it delayed, his prayer was answered so fast that, it started raining before he descended the pulpit.
In another version: Imam Al-Bukhari relates that Anas Ibn Malik said:
A man entered the mosque on the day of Jumuah (Friday prayers) through the door that faces the Prophet (P.B.U.H.) while he was on the pulpit preaching and said:
O Messenger of Allah, my animals have perished and means have been exhausted, so ask Allah for
rain.
Then the Prophet (P.B.U.H.) raised his hands and said,
“O Allah make it rain (thrice)”.
Anas said:
“I swear by Allah, there were no clouds in the sky not even a single one of them. Then suddenly, a
thick heavy cloud covered us and it rained, we never saw the sky for a week. Then a man entered
from the same door in the following Jumuah (Friday) while the prophet was preaching and
said:
“O Messenger of Allah, ask Allah to stop the rain. Then, the Prophet (P.B.U.H.) raised his
hands, prayed and the rain stopped”.
And in another version Imam Al-Buhkari reports from Anas Ibn Malik that Umar Ibn
Khattab said:
0 Allah we used to asking you to make it rain through the intermediary of Prophet (P.B.U.H.) and you made it rain, so we are asking you to make it rain through the intermediary of the Prophet’s uncle”.
